Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished public servant and businessman, is the vice president. Cheney, a well-known face in Washington politics, has served under four presidents in the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush selected Cheney as his vice president running mate in July 2000, citing Cheney's insight judgment and experience. Dick Cheney, who served the United States as Secretary and Chief of Staff in the administration of a president, and also in Congress is a tremendous serving our country. He's a man of integrity who is respected by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney has said that he regards his job as a trustworthy yet discreet advisor to the Bush administration. Cheney expressed his excitement at being nominated for the Republican vice-presidential nominee. He stated that the future is bright for him working with a leader who can collaborate with those who have differing political opinions and who share common objectives. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on 30 January 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. After 13 years of age, old, he emigrated along with his parents from Nebraska to Casper within the Western region of Wyoming and his father ran the local district of soil conservation to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
