Katherine Heigl reveals the ways that growing up within a "white bubble" changed the way she raised her multiracial family. In an interview with the "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared that her appearance didn't concern her. But after talking to her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of the stark differences their lives were. Meg was asked whether the way she was treated differed in the times they went out with their parents, and when they went alone. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" That made me realize that I had been so naive," Heigl said to her parents. The actress said that she was angry but felt she needed use that anger in order to assist her adopted daughters. Heigl has a four-year old son with her 13-year husband, Josh Kelley. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter of South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
